So, a little about me...
I'm so glad you've stopped by! I can't wait to get to know you. I'm a mom of four girls from a small town in Oklahoma. I've been married to my handyman husband and high school sweetheart, Bryce, for 13 years, and I fall more in love with him every day.
I've been a stay-at-home mom for almost 12 years. During that time I've realized something: I can't "just" be a mom. I just have this nagging feeling deep inside that I was made for MORE. Being a mom is my first priority, and it always will be, but I've learned along the way that I've lost my identity to motherhood.
Maybe you know what I mean. I've had people tell me that I should just be content with my only title being "Mama," but the truth is I feel like God has something more for me. I don't think He created me to sit quietly in my home raising my kids. He gave me a voice, a talent, and the Internet, so I'm gonna use it. I'm passionate about helping moms take control of their finances by getting out of debt and creating a home business they love.
I've gotten pretty good at saving money, and most recently, making money from home. I love to budget, and right now we are in the process of paying off some credit card and medical debt. We only have $5000 to go!
Our ultimate goal is to buy some land and build our dream farmhouse in the country. Deep down, our dream is to do that debt-free, but our realistic minds know that might be next to impossible. I plan on documenting each and every step of our debt-free journey right here on this blog.
God has brought us out of some pretty sad financial situations in our marriage. I won't go into the details here (I wrote a blog post about it here), but we were technically homeless, living with generous family and friends for two years while we got on our feet.
I know what it's like to be without a car, to be surviving on food stamps and WIC while pregnant and raising a two-year-old, and to live on credit cards while my husband worked seven days a week at two jobs falling behind on our payments month after month.
If you're in this situation and it feels like you'll never get out, take it from me. You can get out of that pit. We did. All it took was a budget and some discipline. Trust me, if we can do it, so can you, and I hope that I can help in some small way.
Aside from sharing our journey of paying off debt, I'll also share tips on saving money in a household of six, how I make money from home, my journey with celiac disease and healing my liver and skin issues, and all the mom things, you know, like, beauty, fitness, raising kiddos, just life as a mom in general.
I hope you guys'll stick around with me through all this. I'm excited about sharing our crazy life with all of you!
